Dear Yann, to our discussion: My name is Jan-Hendrik Pelz, one of my assistants is Balint Goldenstein. If he is doing a picture in my name, I have the copyright also like I would do the picture. Im working in a bigger studio and that's how it works. So, sure I can be subject of the picture and have the copyright. I have not so much knowledge here with wikipedia. but Balint Goldenstein told me there is a problem of erasing, so I created my own account. I can send you a copy of my passport or whatever you need, but to be honest, its not a good feeling if you tell me that I have now no copyright of my own picture! Please, I want a proof that I still have the rights about my own pictures! And if you would help me a bit, just to handle here, would be very friendly. Johnabook

Hello, every picture that I have uploaded belongs to me and I own the full copyright. I have uploaded 3 pictures of Princess Vitarah and every single one of them has been removed and I don't understand why. I took the photos myself as I am her photographer and social media manager, and I own full rights to all the photos I have uploaded. I would never intentionally upload something I did not have the rights to.

I requested an undeletion and a user informed me that if an image is uploaded somewhere else before Commons then I have to show free license from where it was originally uploaded. Does this mean that I have to take a picture of Princess Vitarah and then upload it to Commons first before we post it anywhere else in order to avoid copyright confusion?

Buddha deletions

Hi Yann, can you revert all changes to File:Buddha 1950s postcard.jpg and File:Buddha 1950s postcard 2.jpg?

1. Whilst they are from the same photograph, they are from a different source and have different quality. I was unable to find a good resolution copy of the photo, so both are useful until that time.
2. The border is part of the original scan, and is typical post card design, see File:Postcard of Lendava 1943.jpg, File:Postcard of Postojna 1943.jpg, File:1943 postcard of Kranj.jpg. Cropping the border removes the meaning of the file. Why ignore the template?

Duplicate deletion is clearly viewed differently, for example I tagged the following files File:Bundesarchiv Bild 146-1981-025-18A, Auschwitz, Luftaufnahme, fallende Bomben.jpg, File:Bundesarchiv Bild 146-1981-025-17A, KZ Auschwitz, Luftaufnahme.jpg, File:Bundesarchiv Bild 146-1981-025-04A, Auschwitz, Luftaufnahme.jpg.--BevinKacon (talk) 11:51, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

C'est un film récent, l'affiche est donc encore sous droits d'auteur (et pour longtemps), et donc non acceptée sur Commons. Il est possible de l'importer localement sur Wikipedia en anglais avec les règles de "fair use". Généralement, cela dépend de chaque Wikipedia d'accepter ou non le "fair use". Hello Yann, I am Adithya. I have uploaded several images of the judges of the Supreme Court of India with accordance to Government Open Data License - India (GODL) after consultation with you a few months back (https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Yann&direction=next&oldid=324336724#Clarification_on_the_extent_of_free_use_of_Images). But now another administrator has said that the license is not valid and the images are subject to deletion. It is explained on your talk page here: User talk:Fcgaldino#File:IDEAsinger.jpg. The detailed instructions are here. The easiest way is to use Commons:Wikimedia_OTRS_release_generator. Alternatively, the images could be accepted if they are published with a mention of a free license (e.g. CC-BY-SA-4.0) on the owner's website. Yann, je m'explique mieux. Dans la page de Nina de Padova que j'ai rédigée j'avais chargé deux photos : la première (celle qu'y figure maintenant) n'a jamais crée de problèmes. La deuxième a été éliminée aussitôt. En croyant avoir fait une fausse manoeuvre, je l'ai rechargée, et à partir de là on a commencé à me demander l'autorisation pour le respect du copyright. Comme je n'ai aucune autorisation parce qu'il s´agit d'une vieille photo pour laquelle aucune information sur les propriétaires officiels n'est disponible, je l'ai éliminé de la page en laissant la première. Maintenant je ne comprends plus : c'est aussi la première photo à créer de problèmes de copyright ? Puisque si c'est ça le cas, svp éliminez cette photo de la page et procédez avec la publication. Excusez-moi, mais je ne suis ni un technicien du web ni un avocat, et je trouve extrêmement compliqué entretenir une conversation avec un système qui n'est pas trop user-friendly - à tous le moins si le user est très peu doué comme moi. Je voudrais tout simplement voir la page publiée, et il vaut mieux le faire sans photos que pas du tout. According to the uploader, it is a copy from the University of California Website, so a formal written permission from the copyright holder (probably the photographer) is needed via COM:OTRS. No license was provided. In addition, this is very small, therefore not very useful. It would be much better to uplaod a large image, or even the original unmodified version from the camera. Le concours concernera 368 zones de toute la France, des parcs nationaux jusqu’aux réserves naturelles régionales englobant ainsi des paysages et biotopes variés.

Pendant le mois de mai, n'hésitez pas à mettre en ligne des photos de ces zones que vous auriez sur vos disques durs ou à vous rendre dans une zone concernée près de chez vous (à l'aide de la carte). Le règlement est disponible sur la page du concours.

Les plus belles photos seront sélectionnées par un jury national composé de commonistes, d'acteurs de l'environnement et de photographes professionnels. Preview of images

Hi, just posting this here, as I'm not sure it's not just my browser or something. Perhaps you can tell me. Recently, when I click on an image to get a better look, it opens as a tiny thumbnail, and when I click on it again, it still does not go full size (it goes window-sized maybe). Anyone else report this? (I couldn't find it, but it's hard to describe I guess). Also, could you remove the personal information from Commons:Help_desk#logo_Univé - I'm sure the person would appreciate not getting random calls? The copyright holder has to send a formal written permission. Please see COM:OTRS for the instructions. If the copyright holder is an organisation, the permission must come from someone entitled to release it (legal department, etc.). Que dirais-tu de créer en série (avec QuickStatements) les éléments pour les œuvres manquantes, avec lien vers le catalogue, + Cézanne + peinture (ou dessin) ?

@Politicoindian: The license at the Lok Sabha website is not OK for Commons. For Commons, files must be available for any use, including commercial ones.

Une image remarquable peut être aussi une image de valeur, mais ce n'est pas automatique, et inversement. You deleted my pictures. I think i uploaded them in the wrong category. They were stills from television series, more detailed, the logo's (opening titels) of the series. There are many opening titles and logo's stills on Wikipedia and Wiki commons on pages about television series, and it being used under the term fair use. That's what i also wanted to do. So i think i uploaded them wrong and what should i do to bring them back under the right terms?

Hello, I saw that you removed an image that I recently uploaded to commons. questions about copyright violation

Hello, Yann.
